Clerodendron thomsoniae is a evergreen climbing vine that is native to Western tropical Africa, reaching to about 6m in climbing height. It has glossy, dark green oval leaves, and deep crimson petals emerging from hanging clusters of white, heart-shaped calyces. Bold, eye-catching flowers provide colour for most of the year. A non-invasive climber for a fence, pergola or trellis. Make a great indoor plant for a brightly lit conservatory or sunroom. Can also be used as a groundcover. Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position with well drained soil. Plant in a frost free position. Clerodendron thomsoniae grows 20cm high and 6m wide as a groundcover.
